Fess Parker, Actor, Wine Maker, Dead At 85 – NPR

Fess Parker, a name that will be immediately familiar to people of a certain age, say retirement age, died Thursday at age 85. Parker became a national icon as “Davy Crockett” and “Daniel Boone” on some of early television’s most popular shows. He later became a successful developer and owner or a winery.
